With no shortage of members belonging to the “singer-songwriter” community, Brian Kirk has carved out a place firmly his own by combining delicate fingerstyle guitar playing with haunting melodies that tour through the fields of layered freak-folk, gestural harmonies inspired by choir music, and wandering narratives told through cryptic lyricism.  His debut album, Witness To, is set to release June 17, 2022 and chronicles the period of time during which his father fought and lost his battle to colon cancer at the height of the pandemic.

Brian was born and raised in North Carolina, where he first developed a love for rock and roll in the city of Raleigh, and a sensitivity to folk music inspired by the mountains of Asheville.  An opportunity to further develop his personal sound and technical prowess presented itself at The New School of Music in Manhattan, when news of his father brought about a brief return to North Carolina.  Upon completing his program thereafter, he set his sights on recording an album that would simultaneously serve as homage, reflection, and therapy.
